Early Years

Ages 3 to 4 years

Our ethos at Haileybury Malta is that the best early learning should be child initiated, and that when given the opportunities to explore the world in a safe and nurturing environment, children are able to fulfil their potential.

Our ethos is very much embedded in the Early Years Curriculum, in which children engage in experiences that will support their unique age and stage of development. We firmly believe that children should feel secure and valued which, in turn, allows them to develop and explore their own strengths. By providing pupils with opportunities that develop their creativity, imagination and curiosity, we also encourage pupils to try new things, to take risks, and to develop their problem-solving skills.

Kindergarten will comprise two grades (“Kinder 1” and “Kinder 2”), with pupils ranging from 3 years old to 4 years old with the School having an eventual complement of four Kindergarten classes in total.

Kindergarten classes will have a capacity of 15 and 20 pupils with respect to Kinder 1 and Kinder 2 respectively.

One fully-qualified teacher will be responsible for each Kindergarten class who will be responsible for the delivery of the majority of subjects in each class. Kindergarten will be supported by approximately three Teaching Assistants between all the classes.
